We provide comprehensive speech pathology assessments for children and teenagers. These may explore areas such as speech, language, literacy, social communication and swallowing.
Assessment findings help identify strengths, areas of difficulty, and recommendations for support. Written assessment reports can also be provided where appropriate to support families, schools, medical professionals, funding reviews and more.

Therapy sessions are personalised to the individual’s goals, interests, and daily communication needs. We aim to create supportive and engaging sessions that build practical skills and confidence across real-life situations. Therapy may involve play-based activities, structured intervention tasks, collaboration with families and supports, and strategies that can be carried over into everyday life. Therapy goals and plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted as needed to reflect progress, changing needs, and everyday priorities.

Speech is how children use sounds to make words so they can be understood. Some kids may have difficulty with certain sounds (articulation) or use patterns that make their speech harder to understand (phonological patterns). A Speech Pathologist can help children practise accurate sounds, improve their clarity, and build confidence so they can be understood by family, friends, and others.

Language is how children understand and use words to share their ideas. Some children may find it hard to understand instructions (receptive language), while others may have trouble putting words together to express themselves (expressive language). A Speech Pathologist can support children to grow their vocabulary, build longer sentences, answer and ask questions, and better understand what others are saying. This helps them succeed at home, school, and with friends.

Literacy involves the ability to read, write, and understand written language. Speech Pathologists can assess both children to identify any challenges with reading, writing, or comprehension, and develop targeted interventions to support skill development, improve understanding, and enhance overall literacy abilities. Our clinicians are Sounds Write certified.

Social communication is how children use language to build friendships, take turns, share ideas, and understand others. Some children may find it tricky to pick up on social cues, join in play, or manage conversations. A Speech Pathologist can support children to develop these skills in fun and practical ways, helping them feel more confident connecting with family, friends, and teachers.
